Why is my recorded speed different from my car's speedometer?
Car speedometers are typically calibrated to read a few percent high (a legal requirement in many regions). TripRank uses GPS, which is more accurate but can be affected by signal quality, tunnels, and tall buildings. For best results, drive with a clear view of the sky.
How does trip recording work in the background?
Once you start a trip, TripRank keeps recording even when the screen is off or another app is in the foreground. You'll see a status indicator in the iPhone status bar while location is active. Stop the trip from the App, Apple Watch, or Live Activity when you arrive.
The App isn't detecting my trips automatically.
Automatic trip detection requires Always location permission and the Motion & Fitness permission. Open Settings → TripRank and confirm both are enabled. Detection may take a minute or two after you start moving.
Can I delete a trip after it's recorded?
Yes. Open the trip from your dashboard, tap the menu (•••), and select Delete trip. Deletion is permanent and removes the trip from leaderboards.
What does Pro unlock?
Pro unlocks Mapbox vector map styles, full-screen replays with telemetry scrubber, unlimited trip history, advanced statistics, and ad-free leaderboards. Manage your subscription in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
What does the "Lifetime" plan actually mean?
"Lifetime" means the lifetime of the App, not your lifetime. It is a one-time purchase that gives you Pro access for as long as TripRank is actively distributed, maintained, and operated. If the App is ever discontinued, withdrawn from the App Store, or sunset, the Lifetime plan ends with it. There is no perpetual or forever guarantee. How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are billed through Apple. Open Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → TripRank → Cancel Subscription. You keep Pro access until the end of the current billing period.
My Apple Watch isn't syncing with the iPhone app.
Make sure both apps are updated to the latest version, your Watch is paired and within range, and Background App Refresh is enabled for TripRank. If sync still fails, force-quit both apps and reopen the iPhone app first.
How can I export my trips?
Open a trip → tap Share → Export as GPX. For a full account export, email [email protected] from the email tied to your account.
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Account → Delete account. This removes your profile, trips, and leaderboard entries within 30 days. Action is irreversible.
Is TripRank safe to use while driving?
Set up TripRank before you start driving. Mount your phone, start the trip, then drive. Never interact with the App in motion. Use Apple Watch or the Live Activity for hands-free control while underway.
